CES 2017 Day 2: More Great New Accessories for Your Apple Products

After kicking off on Wednesday, the huge CES trade show is continuing today in Las Vegas. Here are some of our favorite new accessories making waves during CES 2017 day 2.

Sennheiser Amebo Smart Surround Earbuds

While virtual reality and 360-degree videos are continuing to become more popular, Sennheiser is wanting to make it easy for iPhone users to capture and playback binaural audio – also known as 3-D sound. With the Amebo Smart Surround Earbuds, any recorded audio can be played back through a pair of stereo headphones. The earbuds feature a Lightning plug and can be used with an iPhone or iPad.

Arriving sometime in the second half of 2017, no pricing was announced for the earbuds.

D-Link Omna 180 Cam HD

D-Link's new Omna 180 Cam HD is the first from the company to offer compatibility with Apple's HomeKit protocol. The standout feature looks to be the 180-degree field-of-view that should easily show you every part of a room. Users will be able to see in complete darkness up to 16 feet away from the camera thanks to built-in night vision.

Along with two-way audio, the camera can record video locally using the built-in microSDXC slot. The camera can be set to automatically record and notify a user when any motion is detected.

The camera will arrive sometime in the first quarter of this year. No pricing information was announced.

BACtrack Skyn

Integrated into an add-on Apple Watch band, the BACtrack Skyn is a wearable, near real-time blood alcohol content monitor. That means there's no need to use a breathalyzer.

Users just need to glance down at the Apple Watch app to check their BAC level.

The watch band is expected to arrive sometime in the summer and retail for $99.

There will also be a separate, standalone wearable device that can sync to an iPhone.

Speck Presidio Clear and Presidio Show

Speck's popular Presidio line of cases is expanding. Along with the Presidio Show for the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, the company has announced the Presidio Show for MacBook.

The Show case for the iPhone features a special barrier around the outside that can provide drop protection of up to 10 feet. A clear back shows off the phone design. It is currently available in black and will soon arrive in gold, rose gold, and silver to match the other iPhone colors. The case starts at $39.95 and is available for the iPhone 7/6s/6 and iPhone 7 Plus/6s Plus/6 Plus.

On the MacBook side, Presidio Clear is made with a special transparent material that is designed to absorb and disperse shocks from drops of up to four feet. With a two-piece design, the case can easily be installed on the laptop.

It will first be available for the new 13-inch MacBook Pro in February and retail for $99.95. The case will arrive for other MacBook models later in the year.

Ecoxgear EcoJump

A safe and convenient way to jump start a car, the EcoJump from Ecoxgear has a few other tricks up its sleeve. Providing 500 amps at 12v of cranking power, it can provide up to 25 jump starts before needing to be recharged. Thanks to integrated Bluetooth, the battery can send its charge status and temperature to the companion iOS app. It will even notify you when it needs to be charged.

The unit also sports two USB ports to charge other devices like an iPhone or iPad. During an emergency, the battery can strobe and even features a 300-lumen flashlight.

Arriving in March, the EcoJump will retail for $149.99.
